Über die Qualität von Calexico brauchen wir hier nicht zu diskutieren. Die ganz harten Fans werden auch alle Singles haben, aber denen, die grundsätzlich keine CD-Singles kaufen oder aber bei der einen oder anderen zu lange überlegt haben, denen kann jetzt geholfen werden.
Denn nur in den USA ist eine CD-EP mit 8 Songs erschienen, die von den europäischen Singles bekannt sein sollten/könnten. Als Bonus gibt es drei Videos, die ihr über euren PC schauen könnt (so er denn dafür ausgerüstet ist).
Mit "Sonic Wind" (Instrumental Version), "Crystal Frontier" (Widescreen Version), "Untitled III" (remix by Two Lone Swordsmen), "Chanel No. 5" (AMC Cover), "Banderilla", "Crooked Road And The Briar", "Crystal Frontier" (acoustic version) und "Hard Hat".

“The title of this collection of rarities could easily be construed as an excuse for putting out an odds nþ sods EP instead of a new album, but music this evocative deserves much better than to simply gather dust on various European CD singles. Working the sun-baked stretch of the border that lies between Arizona and Mexico and between Ennio Morricone and the Tindersticks, tracks like "Sonic Wind," "Banderilla" and the Two Loneswordsman remix of "Untitled III" would make excellent accompaniment for a drive across the desert in an old Lincoln Continental. Even better is "Crystal Frontier" (included here in acoustic and full Mariachi band versions), a gritty and witty slice of musical reportage that may be the best thing Calexico has ever waxed.
