Wieder aufgelegt, von 2017. Die von Danger Mouse und Sam Cohen produzierte Compilation enthält Songs aus dem Jahr 1962, viele Klassiker, neu und ansprechend interpretiert von Künstlern wie Beck, Benjamin Booker, Sam Cohen, Grandaddy, Norah Jones, Kelis, Kevin Morby, Karen O, Angel Olsen, The Shins und Sharon Van Etten.
Inspiriert war die Produktion damals von der Amazon Prime-Show "The Man in the High Castle", daher der Titel. Aber diese geschichte macht eigentlich nicht das Album aus, auch nicht die unterschiedlichen, bekannten Künstler. Vielmehr ist es neben der Auswahl der Songs die liebevolle, aufwendige Inszenierung des Sounds, der mit einem Bein bei den Originalen und mit dem anderen im Hier und Jetzt steht. Alles sehr homogen und doch vielseitig. 60s Hits revisited....

Resistance Radio: The Man In The High Castle Album is a musical companion to the hit Amazon Prime Video Original Series "The Man in The High Castle," based on author Philip K. Dick's award-winning book. Set in 1962, the series explores an alternative history of what it would be like if the Allied Powers had actually lost WWII, and Japan and Germany ruled the United States. In the storyline, the Germans now have control the Eastern seaboard, the Japanese the west coast, and in between is a small strip of land controlled by neither. This neutral zone is the refuge of holdouts, revolutionaries and rebels trying to keep the American dream alive through both active and passive resistance, and from where Resistance Radio is broadcasting.
