Nach 45 Jahren werden nun endlich die gesamten Aufnahmen von Bob Dylans gefeierten Japan-Konzerten als »The Complete Budokan 1978« veröffentlicht.
Damals startete der Singer-Songwriter eine einjährige Welttournee mit elf Konzerten in Japan, acht davon in der legendären Nippon Budokan Hall in Tokio. Zwei dieser Konzerte wurden in Gänze mitgeschnitten und im gleichen Jahr als Livealbum »At Budokan« zunächst nur in Japan auf den Markt gebracht. Die Kritiken waren seinerzeit durchwachsen. Die Fans aber liebten das Album, auf dem Bob Dylan und seine Band viele ihrer größten Hits in eingängigen Versionen spielten. Um auf die internationale Nachfrage zu reagieren, wurde das Doppel-Album schließlich im April 1979 weltweit veröffentlicht.
Jetzt, 45 Jahre später, werden erstmals beide aufgezeichneten Konzerte vollständig auf den Markt gebracht. »The Complete Budokan 1978« enthält in einer luxuriösen Deluxe-Box ganze 58 Songs auf 4 CDs, darunter 36 bislang unveröffentlichte Stücke. Alle Tracks wurden von den originalen 24-Kanal-Multibändern neu gemixt und klingen absolut fantastisch.
Außerdem kann die Box mit einem 60-seitigen Fotobuch und diversen Faksimiles von Postern, Flyern, Eintrittskarten und vielem mehr begeistern.
All songs from the two shows Dylan played at the legendary Budokan hall in Tokyo on February 28 and March 1, 1978 during his first ever tour of Japan.All 58 songs from the two nights were recorded in a fantastic new mix by the original engineer Tom Suzuki and with new artwork by the original art director Teruhisa Tajima.
4-CD box set including 58 songs, 36 of which are previously unreleased. This will be a stunning 12x12 inch box set with a 60-page book including tons of unseen photography, a copy of the original 20-page tour book, ticket stub replicas, two posters and two facsimile print ads.
