2022 wird das Schallplattendebüt von Bob Dylan fast schon rekordverdächtige 60 Jahre alt: am 19. März 1962 erschien das selbstbetitelte erste Album Dylans, mit ganzen 420 Dollar Produktionskosten im Rücken, bei Columbia Records in New York. Jetzt werden aus diesem Anlass die drei zweifellos wichtigsten Sechzigerjahre-Alben Dylans auf Vinyl wiederveröffentlicht: das musikalische Triptychon "Bringing It All Back Home" (1965), "Highway 61 Revisited" (1965) und das erste Doppelalbum der Rockgeschich te, "Blonde On Blonde" (1966). Natürlich im neuesten Remastering, mit den zeitgenössischen roten Stereo-Labels, den berühmten "Stereo 360 Sound"-Logos und erstmals überhaupt mit Replicas der Original-Werbeaufkleber (im Sammlerjargon "hype sticker") auf den Covern. In schwarzem Vinyl, so wie es sein soll.

Columbia 1965. Nicht einmal ein halbes Jahr dauerte es, dass Dylan nach “Bringing It All Back Home” („Subterranean Homesick Blues“ in Europa) mit dieser Platte ein noch stärkeres Werk zustande brachte, ohne Zweifel bis heute unter seinen besten und wichtigsten Platten. Der vom neuen Produzenten Bill Johnston in lockerer Atmosphäre kreierte Ensemble-Sound der Band klang insgesamt klarer und präziser als bei „Back Home“, die Wucht der Songs tat ihr übriges dazu.

The most striking improvement is the sense of depth, which allows listeners to hear into the music. Compression that had muffled instruments and squashed Dylan's voice has disappeared, making audible the reeds in his harmonica, wood of his guitar and, what may be the biggest discovery, continuity of his voice. Everybody playing with Dylan sounds infinitely better too. Rhythms have never been as solid or tight, the give-and-take interplay between musicians fully exposed.
