Auf ihr gefeiertes zweites Album "Forever Turned Around" folgend, veröffentlichen Whitney ihr zehn Stücke umfassendes Coveralbum "Candid" - eine beeindruckende Kollektion für die die Band ihre Lieblingssongs von KünstlerInnen wie Kelela, SWV (Sisters with Voices), David Byrne & Brian Eno und John Denver interpretiert hat und sich damit durchaus aus ihrer musikalischen Komfortzone herausbewegt. Mit dabei sind die Coverversion der 1979er The Roches-Single "Hammond Song" sowie "Take Me Home, Country Roads" in Zusammenarbeit mit Waxahatchee. Über die Idee zum Coveralbum verrät Drummer und Sänger Julien Ehrlich: "This could've been as simple as saying we really love these songs and we love our bandmates and making a covers record just felt right but it truly became an exploration into how we can evolve as a band going forward."
