26er Veröffentlichung des Mannes aus Neuseeland, für längere Zeit Mitglied By A Place To Bury Strangers, aufgenommen im Laufe der 10 Jahre zuvor. Lauter unveröffentlichte Stücke, aber keinesfalls Abfall, keine minderwertigen Single-B-Seiten oder sowas, er hatte wohl einfach immer mehr Material, als er auf den LPs unterbringen konnte. Kompromisslos wie gewohnt: Roh, oft riffbetont, teils schneidend bzw. messerscharf, mehrfach noisig, ob als Neo-60s- oder eher 80er-Garage Punk (zeitweise gar nicht mal so unähnlich den ganz frühen Kinks), als 76er/77er Punk pur (in einem Fall ganz besonders wild), das Ganze als stop-and-go-Version und selbst für seine Verhältnisse ungeheuer brutal/wüst/brennend, auch an die Stooges in radikaler und kurz überschnappend dachte ich einmal, zweimal geht es eher in Richtung „Underground Post Punk“ (in atmosphärisch und noisig im letzten Drittel, oder auf die Spitze getrieben und voller Schreddergitarren). Dazwischen gibt´s ein viel ruhigeres Stück, dunkel, etwas spooky, kurzen Bauhaus-Parallelen, sogar Vibrafon-Einsatz. (detlev von duhn)

I Owe You (Nothing) was written October and November 2016. Before, during and after election time in the US. Tension, fear, anger, dread and any other negative adjective you choose to use were in full swing and it felt almost impossible for this not to infiltrate into my music or even write about anything else.

Rare Gems Volume One is an essential Dion Lunadon release and also features fan favorites, 1976 and When Will I Hold You Again. Do not be fooled!! This is NOT just a bunch of b-sides or 2nd rate throw aways!! Dion has written and recorded 100's of songs during this period and for one reason or another these gems did not make it onto official albums. But gems they are!
