Die Band wurde 1965 von dem charismatischen Sänger und Bassisten Sky Saxon gegründet, und gilt bis heute als eine der einflussreichsten Mid-60s Garagen-Bands überhaupt.bAlbum No. 2, wurde im Original 1966 veröffentlicht – genau zu der Zeit als ihr Klassiker ‘Pushin Too Hard‘ vom Debütalbum die US-Charts aufrollte. Im Windschatten der Doors oder Love entstand im Sommer des Jahres ein Album, das eine musikalische Weiterentwicklung war, nicht nur wegen des 14-minütigen ‘Showstoppers‘ ‘Up In Her Room‘.
