Neal Casals Debütalbum "Fade Away Diamond Time" wurde 1995 veröffentlicht. Jim Scott (Wilco, Tom Petty, Johnny Cash) produzierte das Album aufgenommen wurde es mit einer hochkarätigen Besetzung in einer Villa in den Hügeln von Santa Ynez, Kalifornien. Es war der Einstieg in das intime Songwriting und die lyrische Gitarrenarbeit, die zum Fundament seiner Karriere werden sollten. 
 
 Zwischen Aufnahmen und Tourneen mit anderen Künstlern wie Beachwood Sparks, Hard Working Americans, Lucinda Williams und natürlich Ryan Adams & The Cardinals, Chris Robinson Brotherhood - zwei Bands, in denen er Gründungsmitglied war - gelang es Casal, eine vielseitige und solide Solokarriere zu führen.
Seit der Erstveröffentlichung im September 1995 ist "Fade Away Diamond Time" zu einem Kultklassiker geworden und wird schließlich zu seinem 25-jährigen Jubiläum im Jahr 2020 in Europa über das neue Reissue-Imprint Not Fade Away Recording Co. wiederveröffentlicht - in den USA wird das Album im Rahmen des Record Store Days neu aufgelegt.

Neal Casal ist am 26. August 2019 auf tragische Weise verstorben.

Neal Casal‘s debut record, Fade Away Diamond Time, was released in 1995 to much critical acclaim. Produced by Jim Scott (Wilco, Tom Petty, Johnny Cash) and recorded with a stellar cast of players, in a sprawling mansion in the hills of Santa Ynez, California, the album introduced the intimate songwriting and lyrical guitar work that would become the foundation of his career. Since its original release in September of 1995, Fade Away Diamond Time has become a cult classic and will finally be re-issued on vinyl (and CD) for its 25th anniversary in 2020. In between recording and touring with other artists such as Beachwood Sparks, Hard Working Americans, Lucinda Williams and, obviously, Ryan Adams & The Cardinals, Chris Robinson & The Brotherhood – two bands he was a founding member of -, Casal managed to lead a rich and solid solo career.
