Chip Taylor, Mitglied der Songwriters Hall Of Fame, schreibt und tritt seit über 60 Jahren auf und ist mit seinem möglicherweise letzten epischen Album »The Truth And Other Things« zurück. Es entstand aus einer Phase der Remission, wobei Taylors Stimme in Hochform Lieder transportiert, die abwechselnd optimistisch, nachdenklich und philosophisch sind.
Chip Taylor stellte seine Band zusammen, bestehend aus Gitarrist John Platania (Van Morrison), Schlagzeuger Tony Leone (Little Feat, Chris Robinson), Goran Grini und Tony Mercadante, und nahm das gesamte Album in einer Woche auf. Später fügte dann der Superstar-Pedalgitarrist Greg Leisz mehreren Stücken seine Magie hinzu. Das Ergebnis reicht von klassischem Americana-Roots-Rock über gefühlvolle Balladen bis hin zu akustischem Folk – alles mit Sinn für Humor und hart erkämpfter Weisheit.
Mit der dritten CD im Set ehrt er Chuck Flood, einen langjährigen Freund im Musikgeschäft, der 2023 verstarb.
